The Golden Thread of MRD 0.1

In my brief but fantastic time racing MX bikes i was fortunate enough to be sponsored by a rider who for me was an absolute legend of the highest order. Badger Goss, a Yeovil local took world class scrambling by the short and curlies and showed everyone he raced against that at some point they were going to experience the tenacity of the the "Badger". in 1981 he sponsored me through Fareham Maico dealers A&S motorcycles on 250 and 490 Maicos after i got my ACU points in 1980 in the first six months of being a junior in the ACU. Dave Wells, another great MX racer was always a friendly face at Badgers factory at Penn Mill in Yeovil and they are days i remember so well. A very happy time for me with good friends to ride with and support from parents. It sadly didn't last but whilst it did i learned an awful lot. Photo credit: Francis Custard Archive.
