MRD BMX Series 3 Stadium Pro Numberplate

Background & History

These MRD BMX Series 3 Stadium Pro numberplates were recently unearthed during a house move at my parents’ home, having been stored for more than 36 years. They are genuine MRD items originating from the 1980s rather than modern reproductions. The Series 3 Stadium Pro was the final of three numberplate designs produced by MRD during that period.

Series 3 Stadium Pro Design

As the last evolution of the MRD numberplate, the Stadium Pro represents the most refined and durable version of the original design. It was intended for racing use, with an emphasis on strength, longevity, and clean presentation under demanding riding conditions.

Materials & Construction

The high-gloss front panels are produced using heavy-duty, fully waterproof material chosen for durability and long-term performance. This is the same type of material used by factory motocross teams for professional bike graphics, selected for its resistance to impact, weather, and repeated use.

Mounting & Fixings

The numberplate uses a four-point Velcro attachment system for secure mounting and straightforward installation. All fixings are supplied using stainless steel hardware and Nylock nuts, ensuring the plate remains secure even under vibration and repeated riding.

Manufacture & Intended Use

These plates are 100% made in the UK and are suitable for BMX racers, vintage restorations, MRD collectors, and riders seeking authentic period-correct components. They are not mass-produced catalogue items, and once the available stock is gone, there will be no replacements.
